You will find plenty of water fun in the campsite's swimming pond, which is strictly reserved for our guests. So don't forget to pack your swimwear for your holiday! You can, of course, go for a swim, but also enjoy pedalo boating or rowing on the boating pond. Or would you rather just lounge on the beach? As mentioned, these facilities are exclusively for guests staying at camping Baalse Hei. From the tavern's large sun terrace, you can discreetly keep an eye on the children playing. During the summer months, the campsite's lifeguards also keep a watchful eye.

Enjoying the good life – Flanders wouldn’t be Flanders if this theme wasn't on the list of recreation options. The campsite tavern caters to both small and large appetites with a wonderful selection of hot dishes, while the takeaway chip shop is the place to go for delicious snacks. You can, of course, quench a big thirst with a soft drink or even water... but who would visit the Kempen region without tasting local beers like Trappist or Corsendonk?

The fishing pond is one of the hidden gems of Camping Baalse Hei and is strictly reserved for guests. Tucked away in peaceful, lush greenery lies a beautiful fishing lake. A local fishing club manages the jetties, monitors the fish stock, and organizes competitions. Guests staying at camping Baalse Hei can try their luck with a day pass to catch bream, roach, pike, tench, perch… or is it actually a matter of skill?

Enjoy the water! Oars or pedals? You can drift around the boating pond on a pedalo or in a rowing boat. Watch the tiny roach darting through the water beneath you and enjoy the lush greenery all around. Lose all track of time, but stay fully in the moment. Effortlessly active, relaxing, and enjoying.

Turnhout and the Antwerp Kempen region offer endless cycling fun right from the campsite. Tourism Province of Antwerp has created around 50 signposted, circular cycling routes. About ten of these routes pass close to Baalse Hei. At the campsite's bicycle rental, you can hire a bike for €9.50 per day, with a deposit of €50.
